Interpreter Selection Criteria

• A minimum of 2 years professional interpreting experience.
• An Honours Degree or higher Level Interpreting Qualification: We accept degree level qualification (or higher) with at least two interpreting components and two translation components. The qualification must include consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.
• Provided and cleared two professional references from two organisations the interpreter has previously worked with. Our reference confirmation method ensures that the referees know the applicant well, attesting to their good character and professional competence. Referees are asked about record of appropriately turning down assignments, Glossaries and training attended.
• Security Clearance: A minimum of a CRB Standard Disclosure is required. Other types of security clearances that we have stipulated in certain circumstances include:
  • CRB Enhanced Disclosure
  • CRB Scotland Enhanced
  • Counter Terrorist Check
